Hello fellow bloggers,
Long time no see. I desperately want to blog, but I am surprisingly lazy at it. So I have decided to cut all my lazy chords and post something here. Well here it is..
My all new Poem-
My Song
Who’s gonna sing my song
When I make peace with life,
Jack of all trades; jester with a tinge of irony.
Who’s to make sure
That my melodies wither to plain dust
Along with me in this dark ground,
So another may rise again
Awakened by my deep slumber.
Who’s there to break my chains
Breathe life to my mortal soul
As then once more I would spread my wings
And sour beyond time and space.
Maybe no one will hear my songs
May be no one will bury my creed
Maybe no one will cut me loose
Then I may lie; Deep in my grave
Cold and dead; waiting in vain
Just for some light to seep through
The tightly bound Mother Earth.

The Fresher's Day
So finally, my blog about fresher's day. It's been sometime since my fresher's, almost two weeks, so it's a late post. But you know what they say, it's never too late. So my fresher's day.....
Needless to say, but it was a complete success. Hats off to seniors for arranging it well, and also for not calling me to the stage. They have earlier informed us that we will have our lunch with them and they have earnestly asked us not to miss the event. Even though there was a tempting prospect of treat with the seniors, many of us (includes me) wanted to bunk the event. There was always a danger of being called to the stage to the seniors and asked to do some thing or another. And that was what you can call a scary propect. Anyway just before our class ended for lunch, the seniors miraculously appeared in front of the door, and literally herded us to the seminar hall. Thus they effectively thwarted our bunking plans. After the lunch (which was good) started our fresher's day event. In short, our event comprised dances of various styles ( spot dances, comprising of various genres like dappamkootu, kadaapuram style dance, western style dances, and even gay dance!!! and many other events all which performed by freshers(us).
"After all, it's your day!", the seniors said.
And our day it was.....
Apart from the dances, there were some other interesting programs like one where some us were asked to propose senior to girls with so much romance that they have to say yes. But no one succeeded in getting a 'yes' with the whole group of senior guys standing in front of the stage flexing their muscles. We honestly did not want them to 'trouble'.
Thus it was, my fresher's day.......

I'm baack.....
It's becoming a cliche me writing I am back in all my blog posts. What to say, I just can't write blogs regularly. I might be having blogolazino disorder or something. Anyway yesterday seniors came in to our class during the lunch break and announced the long awaited(dreaded) date of Fresher's day. It's at coming Tuesday. They say it's a chance for us to interact with seniors and chance to get to know each other (Yeah, Right!). It's a chance indeed, to find our inner talents in deteriorating our self esteem. But it might be even fun. Let's wait and see. Like I said before, wait for that post.

The one and only happy plumber
I'm hereby happy and somewhat sad to announce that my fever days are completely over. That would mean that goodbye to lazing around inside the house, movies 24 X 7, zero studying hours etc. But it will also means Bonjour to college brawls, hanging outs, movies etc. You can't have all of it at once, right? OK, back to college, the classes are still much boring, hope it eventually becomes interesting... I have the fresher's day to look forward to, where we are presented with an opportunity to become friends with the seniors. At that day, the seniors will treat us with food, they also make us come to the stage and make us do whatever they want. They make us sing, dance, moonwalk,do skits, mimes and whatever they feel like for us to do. Yeah, it will be a disaster. Keep looking for the post of Fresher's day in the blog. Now for the classes, I had plumbing today in workshop class. I made a pipeline with PVC and many joints, and it didn't turned out to be a disaster. But I am still bugged with the fact that an electronic engineering student has to study plumbing in his first year. But it is only a 8 hour class that only go through the basics. I think being an engineer means one should have a basic knowledge about each and every branch in engineering. So, that would means no more complaining and be a happy plumber. :)

Adios, till we meet again...

Check out Save Our Tigers | Join the Roar
You all might have seen the ad about Save Our Tigers in television. It's a sad thing really! I'm a Tiger fan myself and was dismayed to see that there are only 1411 tigers left in India. Hats off to aircel for taking the initiative. I checked the website and found it to be really good. Check it out yourself.

It would be very bad if our national animal got extinct. Just think, future students studying, "India is the only country in the world to have an extinct national animal!"- Real Bad!!!!
I just gooogled it and found that there are many blogs dedicated to raising awareness for the protection of tigers. Some of the notables are.....
http://protect-tigers.blogspot.com
http://save-tiger.blogspot.com/
http://tigersinindia.blogspot.com/
http://savetigers.blog.co.uk/
Many other bloggers have also posted about tigers...Check it in the following link.

If this initiative becomes a success, it could be very beneficial indeed, especially for the already degrading environment. Let's just wait and see.
Or even better, let's all 'JOIN THE ROAR'.

Fever Mania!
Since the last week, I've been confined inside my house due to fever troubles. Now with the fever gone, but with some minor after effects remaining, I'm still home. I think it's good for you to have fever once in a while... Aside from the fact that during fever time you can take a break from the so called the normal busy life, you can also consider this fever period as a minor vacation. Yeah, but a vacation with a pain. If you are living alone, it would be a period of suffering rather than vacation. But if you are living with your parents, it's almost heaven.
Really, I was able to watch some movies I wanted to watch for a long time during this period. I saw The Godfather: Part II and The Good The Bad And The Ugly. Both are lengthy films which I cannot normally watch due to lack of time. But mind you, they are also legendary, the kind of films that all the movie buffs should watch before they die or blah blah blah. Anyway, thanks to fever I watched these films.
I also watched some other movies like My Sassy Girl(Korean), Madagascar 2 etc. And all thanks to fever....

I came I danced.......
Before telling you what this is all about, let me first tell something about me so that you can understand the story better. I'm considered as a geek by my peers. Well, not really a geek, but yeah something sort of a geek. I'm considered as someone who get pleasure in mugging away, a kind of guy who spends most of his time in home studying, a sort of person who finds himself at the top of the world when he is with books. Perhaps I am stretching my friends' accusations a little bit. I think I am considered as a geek because I get moderately good grades and don't play cricket. Not playing cricket will be one of the greatest sins among teenagers in India, or at least where I am from. Anyway, People don't expect me to dance, that's for sure. But I did.
It happened in the New Year's Eve. Due to the pleas of our seniors we got the last two hours of our class off. So we decided to celebrate it on a small scale. We bought some decorations and stuff like that, some bottles of Pepsi and Sprite and two cakes having written " Happy New Year" along with the name of our class with it. I told you, the celebration was really small scale. And it started. We have a separate block for first years. Here all the classes are on both the sides of a long corridor. All the boys in our class marched through the corridor chanting "EC EC" (Electronics and Communication- our trade). You know, we have to 'show off' our strength. After one round we returned to our class. Soon after, all other batches marched through the corridor, shouting the name of their batches too. Mechanical batch even came to our class shouting and making large sounds by beating on a tin can. It was chaos. After that we decided to play the 'dare'just for fun. That's when it began.
During the dare game, you are dared to do something stupid or embarrassing or funny. During the dare game, my name was picked confirming my worst fear.
" Are you sure, I should do the dare?" I asked. " You know, I am not really feeling up to it right now, maybe another time? " I suggested tentatively.
"No man, rules are rules, you have to do the dare. " replied one of my friends, not wanting to miss the fun.
And as you can guess, I was dared to do a dance-in front of the whole class! It was a matter of choice between my manhood and embarrassment. Either I should do the dare and save my manhood by not backing off or I should back off and save myself from embarrassment as I have never danced before in my life. After some serious thought I decided to save my manhood.
" I shall do the dare! " I declared loudly. I think the whole world stood still for one nanosecond shocked at my declaration. You might have noticed that if you are one of those people who is extra attentive to everything happening in the world. Or, you might have not.
Anyway, I still wanted to get out. So as a last resort, I made another declaration.
" I will do the dance, only if someone sing. Really! How can you expect me to dance without music?"
I thought I won. But one of my 'friends' suggested that they all would sing and all I have to do was dance. It really tightened my situation. My choices ran out. So i had to dance.
For a second, my entire life flashed before my eyes. My best embarrassing moment of my life
yet was ready to happen, a moment which I was supposed never to forget. I could feel the air around me becoming dense. Of course, I am exaggerating all of it.
And my friends began to sing a peppy number, a perfect song for making a fool out of me. I made a lame attempt to dance and tried to leave the platform. But my friends pushed me back to the arena. So there I was. And then I did it.
I danced. I don't know what made me do it, but I danced. Never think that I danced in a way that Michael (Jackson) rose from his grave to congratulate me, may he rest in peace. But I danced. I danced for 7 seconds. Then, the entire class shouted and clapped. I am not lying this time.
You may be wondering what I have did or how I danced in 7 seconds for gaining appreciation. I just danced to the music. That's all. Maybe you have figured it now how it was or how I felt if you had a similar experience.
From this small event, I learned two new things,
1. Anyone can dance. Really!
2. What appears to be an impending embarrassing moment could easily turn into a sweet experience.
Thus ended my adventure.
All is well.
